Twenty two (22) bodies have been recovered from the debris of the collapsed Church of Prosperity building at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region.
This was after seven more bodies were pulled from the rubble of the multi-storey uncompleted structure which came down suddenly during a prayer session on Tuesday, October 20.
The bodies have been deposited at the Oda Government Hospital mortuary.
The rescue team made up of NADMO officials, Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), the police, soldiers from jungle warfare, fire personnel and local volunteers are on the site.
Initial reports suggest more than 40 worshipers were taking part in the service before the building crushed on them.
Over a dozen persons who were rescued alive, have been receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities while some have been treated and discharged.
