‘Christians may struggle to afford a cup of rice this Christmas’ – Prophet Amoako Atta

The leader of the Lord’s Parliament Chapel, Prophet Francis Amoako-Atta has in collaboration with Angel Fm’s Anↄpa Bↄfoↄ morning team, held an intercessory prayer session for the country under the theme “Ghana must live: No more calamity”.

The programme held on September 7, 2021 in the studio of Angel FM, was borne out of the economic hardship that has befallen the nation, a situation which is compelling people to resort to sordid means to make ends meet.

Prophet Amoako Atta noted in his sermon for the programme, taken from 2 Kings 6:26-31, that the graveness of the current situation of the country could escalate if pertinent measures are not put in place to mitigate it.

“It was revealed to me on Sunday that should we take things for granted in this country, Christians in this Christmas season would not be able to afford a cup of rice” he said.

Likening the recent surge in murder cases to the incident which occurred and is recorded in the scripture about cannibalism, the clergyman said the recent killings and storing of human parts in refrigerators are the attending factors of poverty and hunger.

This, according to him, necessitated the intercessory prayer “to commit the coming generations into the blood of Jesus to safeguard their future” adding, “It is about time we committed the future of this country and its children into the blood of Christ.”

The programme saw renowned musicians including Akwaboah Junior, Francis Amo, Joyce Blessing, Patience Nyarko and Abena Serwaa Ophelia passing through to have some live performances in turns on the show.
