Owusu Bempah and accomplices slapped with new charges

The General Overseer of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, has been slapped with new charges together with two of his junior pastors.

After their discharge on November 10, 2021 by an Accra Circuit Court, the Ghana Police Service re-arrested the three and charged them with offensive conduct conducive of breach of peace and threat of death.

The re-arrest of the trio was on the back of Police Prosecutor Dennis Terkpetey’s plea to the court that it dismisses the case on trial for fresh charges to be filed against the Christian leader.

However, the court upon their arrest granted Dr. Bempah and the other two accomplices, Bright Berchie and Mensah Ofori a GH₵100,000 bail each.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bempah is being prosecuted at another court with some four members of his church for causing unlawful damage to a police vehicle.

This was in relation to the event that occurred on his church premises when the Police attempted arresting the man of God but were met with resistance from the members resulting in a skirmish.

His followers in this case include Kwabena Nyarko, Nana Acheampong, Naana Brown and Kwame Amoh.

They have however pleaded not guilty to the charges and have been granted bail to the sum of GH₵100,000 each.
