The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) has called on the publics to pursue love and peace this period going forward.
The clarion call came in wake of the Easter festivities to be celebrated to mark the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Christian body holds that the suffering of the Only Begotten Son of God and His death on the cross was a demonstration of God’s love for humanity when He gave Him to the world.
Thus, it is necessary that the nation’s people reflect on God’s act of love and replicate same in their lives taking advantage of the festive season.
“Easter therefore becomes meaningless if we cannot as individuals and as a nation demonstrate forgiveness, love, sacrifice and reconciliation towards one another.
“The current state of mistrust, self-centeredness, hatred, extreme partisanship, sense of insecurity and injustice in our nation is at complete variance with the spirit of Easter,” the President of the Council said in a press release dated April 14, 2022.

14th April, 2022
EASTER MESSAGE TO THE NATION
The President and the entire National Executive Council of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) wish all Ghanaians a happy Easter celebration.
As we celebrate this year’s Easter in the midst of a global economic crisis as a result of the combined effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian War, let us in humility take a personal reflection on the love of God, which He exhibited through the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To gift to us His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to die a shameful death on the Cross for the remission of our sins is a demonstration of the greatest sacrifice one can offer to a loved one.
This reflection of God’s greatest sacrifice of love towards mankind should spur us on as a nation to admit our shortcomings and desire towards genuine repentance and reconciliation so as to embrace the grace of God and salvation which He has freely offered to us.
Easter therefore becomes meaningless if we cannot as individuals and as a nation demonstrate forgiveness, love, sacrifice and reconciliation towards one another. The current state of mistrust, self-centeredness, hatred, extreme partisanship, sense of insecurity and injustice in our nation is at complete variance with the spirit of Easter.
Let us therefore as a nation reflect soberly on the above and in the spirit of Easter commit ourselves to allowing the love of God to permeate every aspect of our national life by demonstrating that spirit of Love and Reconciliation towards one another, just as God reconciled the world to Himself through our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is within this context that we wish to send out to all Ghanaians our message of Love, Peace, Reconciliation and Goodwill during this festive season
To all our member Churches in particular and to all Ghanaians in general, the COVID-19 restrictions may have been eased but let us remember that the virus is still lurking around and could resurge if we continue to be reckless, especially during this festive season. The Council is therefore reminding all to be vigilant and continue to observe the protocols especially in Church and other large gatherings in order not necessitate any further restrictions or lockdown after the celebrations.
As we travel to our various towns, villages and hamlets to celebrate the Easter, we appeal to all to celebrate in moderation, eschewing all vices that may end up in disaster. We urge all motorists to be extra patient, tolerant and cautious to avoid needless accidents, injuries and deaths on our roads.
May this Easter continue to remind us of the ever loving sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ for all humanity, calling on us all to follow his example.
God richly bless us all.
