Christian Council intsifies corruption fight in Easter message

The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has taken a firm stance against corruption, using its Good Friday Easter message to spotlight the need for integrity in Ghana’s public and private sectors.

In a statement, the General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose cautioned that corruption, dishonesty, and moral compromise undermine the moral significance of Easter and hinder the nation’s progress.

The statement ties the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to the necessity of selfless service and honest leadership in Ghana.

It urged both political leaders and ordinary citizens to place the common good above personal comfort, fostering a culture of forgiveness, reconciliation, and ethical conduct to heal ethnic and political divisions.

According to the Council, embedding integrity in every sphere of life is essential for genuine national transformation.

The message also called for responsible citizenship, justice, peace, and shared prosperity, positioning Christian values as a blueprint for combating corruption and achieving holistic development in Ghana.

The Council further encouraged all Ghanaians to let the cross’s message shape their actions, promoting honest governance and ethical behavior as foundations for a thriving nation.
