MTN donates to National Chief Imam

Telecommunications company, MTN Ghana, has donated cash and some assorted items to the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

At a short ceremony held at the residence of the Chief Imam, MTN Ghana presented a cheque for GH₵10000 to him.

In addition to the sum of money gifted to the staunch Muslim leader was a ram and airtime worth GH₵1000. There were also items including 15 bags of rice, 10 cartons of vegetable oil , 40 packs of mineral water, 15 packs of soft drinks, 10 trays of tin milk, 4 boxes of milo, 5 bags of sugar, 2 boxes of teabags.

The General Manager for Regional Sales who led team from MTN Ghana said the donation was an affirmation of the company’s appreciation for the support the community and the Chief Imam have offered amid the patronage and loyalty to the brand.

“May Allah, the Most Gracious and Most Merciful, bestow on the Chief Imam and our households, good health, prosperity and total peace throughout the year. May He grant you and your families abundant grace and holiness now and always,” Mohammed Abubakar, the General Manager prayed.

He urged the community to be moderate in their celebration of the Eid-ul-Fitr and adhere to the Covid-19 protocols since the virus still lingers.

Spokesperson for the Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, who received the donations on behalf of his leader, thanked MTN for the gesture.

“We are profoundly grateful for this gesture that you have done. May Allah increase you,” he said, adding admonishingly, “we must become kind and generous to the needy. Whatever Allah has given you, you must also give some to the poor.”

He also prayed that the brand will expand saying, “our hope is that God Himself will reward you by advancing your company. May Allah strengthen you and may Allah give you peace and harmony.”
