Covid-19: Have faith, not fear – Pastor to congregants

Elder Gideon Okai-Boateng of the Ofankor-District of The Church of Pentecost, Accra, has urged its congregants to have faith in God and not fear despite the desperate times they are living in, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Fear not, for God is with you; be not dismayed, for He is your God. He will strengthen you, yes, He will help you, He will uphold you with His righteous right hand,” Elder Okai-Boateng said in his sermon on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

The sermon, which took place at the Ebenezer Mountains auditorium in the Ofankor District saw just 58 people in attendance; 34 females and 24 males.

According to him, the fight against Covid-19 is being won gradually and urged the congregants to try and make it to church always as the church is much safer.

He also entreated the congregants to spend at least 30 minutes of their time every day, to meditate on the word of God.

The members, as part of the safety precautionary measures on the Covid-19 fight, observed the physical distancing protocols.

Veronica buckets as well as tissues and hand sanitizers, were made available for members to wash and sanitize their hands before entering into the premises.

The normal handshaking and cuddling as it used to be, have all been put on hold.
