The Chairman of Board of Trustees of National Cathedral Project, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, has admonished Ghanaians to be kind in the year 2022.
Speaking under the theme “Showing kindness to one another and responding to God’s redemptive plan (God’s call)”, Apostle Onyinah explained that kindness is a moral value that complements God’s plan for humanity.
He cited Joseph’s attitude towards Mary after discovering her pregnancy in Matthew 1:19 as as the ideal character to be modelled in society.
“Because Joseph her husband, was a righteous man, and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, was minded to put her away secretly” he read.
In his explanation, he said “Joseph although he did not understand the conception [pregnancy] of Mary, he did not want to expose her to public disgrace”.
Thus, according to the theologian, Joseph was indulgent in his relationship with Mary thereby helping to realise God’s purpose for mankind.
“Show kindness to one another as Joseph showed kindness to Mary and by so doing became an important part of God’s redemptive plan” the former Chairman of Church of Pentecost admonished.
Prof. Onyinah further advised the public to “take time to investigate before speaking” in situations where they are bereft of knowledg, adding that each and everyone must also be “tolerant with one another”.
He made the observation when he was delivering his goodwill message to the public ahead of the new year celebration.
