Amoako Atta asks: ‘Where are we going with influencers who insult’

A renowned weekly hosted prophet on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoↄ morning show, Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, has expressed regrets over the growing preference for abusive content on social media over constructive and thought-provoking ones.

“We have a people who are not ready to listen to knowledgeable people and professionals…We have a continent where you only have an audience if you insult,” said the founder and overseer of the Lord’s Parliament Chapel on Tuesday.

According to him, the declination to the state of neglect of what is rather uplifting partly accounts for the sufferings of humanity while the subscribers of these ‘demoralising’ contents contribute to producers’ wealth creation.

“Even the one who is watching is being insulted…yet he [the viewer] will remain watching so that the content producer receives payment from Google,” he stated, asking, “if we have people like this, where are we going? When shall we find the wisdom to guide our lives?”

The comment of the cleric stems from the reactions of persons who apportion blame to spiritual forces for allegedly orchestrating disasters when they occur.

A case in point was when he indicated that he received a phone call where he was asked whether the recent flooding from Saturday, May 21, 2022 night’s downpour was the doing of spiritual forces.

To him, it was time the citizenry took responsibility for the mishaps that occur and take remedial actions to forestall the eventualities and other crises to better their lives “or else we are messing around”.

Apostle Amoako Attah further mentioned that God in His wisdom always provides a leader for the people to guide them whom the followers must listen to lead successful lives.

Meanwhile, the prophet who is known for speaking on national issues and offering counsel to authorities has reiterated the need for government to be responsive to the cries of the citizenry.

According to him, it is the responsibility of the government to improve the living conditions of the people who have entrusted their future to the hands of leadership.

He said: “Leadership is promotion–the betterment of the lives of the people they lead. You [the leader] don’t have to leave them in the state you came to meet them. When you construct roads, you have done nothing. It is the pocket of the individual that matters. They are not going to eat infrastructure. Let the life of the people be promoted.”
